We sought views and input from stakeholders on: our proposed governance model, roles and responsibilities, in particular the creation of an Interim DSI Coordinator key deliverables for the Interim DSI Coordinator between 2024 - 2028 whether the National Energy System Operator (NESO), Ofgem or an independent working group is best suited to lead the Interim DSI Coordinator role the key considerations of each of these entities taking on this role Our decision Following analysis of responses to this consultation, we are taking four key decisions. We have decided to appoint NESO as the Interim DSI Coordinator for the Interim Period, with adequate oversight processes in place to ensure that stakeholders’ concerns with NESO taking on this role are sufficiently mitigated. We have taken account of stakeholder recommendations for roles, responsibilities and outputs for DSI governance and have expanded and refined the governance model, setting out roles for Ofgem, the Interim DSI Coordinator and the Stakeholder Advisory Group in more detail. We are taking a new approach to use case development which creates the opportunity for additional use cases to be incorporated earlier in the Interim Period. Finally, we have set out that the DSI will initially be funded through the NESO’s RIIO IT funding pot, and have committed to assessing whether alternative funding models will be more appropriate following the Interim Period.
