Distribution Connection and Use of System Agreement

The DCUSA (Distribution Connection and Use of System Agreement) is the multi-party contract between electricity distributors, suppliers, and generators connected to the distribution network. It covers DUoS charging methodology, connection agreements, metering arrangements, and data exchange between DNOs, IDNOs, and suppliers. DCUSA Ltd administers the code.

The change process

Any DCUSA party can raise a change proposal (DCP). Proposals go through Definition, Impact Assessment, Consultation, and Change Report phases before going to a vote. DNOs, IDNOs, suppliers, and CVA registrants are eligible to vote. Some changes require an Authority Decision from Ofgem rather than a vote.
