ElecLink - NESO's Net Transfer Capacity
Summary
NESO publishes the Net Transfer Capacity values it submits for the ElecLink interconnector between GB and France. These values represent NESO's restrictions on maximum import/export flows in MW per hour, though final interconnector capacity may be lower after considering values from the French system operator and interconnector capabilities.
Why it matters
Provides transparency on how NESO manages interconnector capacity constraints, which affects cross-border electricity trading and GB system balancing. Important operational data for traders and market participants using interconnector capacity.
Key facts
- •Values submitted in MW per hourly time period
- •Final capacity may be lower than NESO values
- •Values only published where NESO has applied restrictions

These are the values submitted by NESO to the interconnector capacity calculation processes which restrict the maximum GB import and export interconnector flows. The values are submitted in MW per hourly time period. >**NOTE:** Final interconnector capacity is calculated using these NESO values, values from the connected SO and the interconnector capability. Therefore, the interconnector’s final capacity value may be lower than the NESO values shown here. The final values can be found on each interconnector’s trading facilitator’s website. Values will only be published where a restriction has been applied by NESO . If there are no values, NESO has not applied a restriction.
