24 Months Ahead Constraint Cost Forecast
Summary
NESO publishes the 24-month-ahead forecast of constraint costs by boundary on a monthly basis, covering thermal, voltage and stability constraints plus voltage requirements.
Why it matters
Forecast counterpart to the constraint-limits dataset. Constraint costs are paid by consumers via balancing services charges; the forecast is the most authoritative forward view of the size of that cost. Inertia and largest-loss-of-infeed costs are excluded from the forecast.

Memo
This dataset contains the 24-month ahead constraint costs on a monthly basis for the main boundaries on the transmission system. These costs are the costs of managing constraint boundaries (for thermal, voltage or stability constraints) plus the cost of meeting the voltage requirements. These costs do not include the cost of managing inertia or the largest loss of infeed.<br>
