DESNZ·notice·medium·24 Jan 2022·source document

Summary

DESNZ announces a six-week consultation on technical changes to CfD scheme and Supply Chain Plan process for Allocation Round 5, launching in the next few weeks. A parallel 12-week call for evidence on longer-term Supply Chain Plan reforms will run alongside. Live Q&A session scheduled for 9 February 2022.

Why it matters

Technical changes to CfD typically adjust strike prices, technology eligibility, or administrative processes rather than market structure. Supply Chain Plan reform could shift cost allocation if it strengthens domestic content requirements or changes how projects demonstrate supply chain commitments.
