CfD Stakeholder Bulletin — 30 March 2023

DESNZ·notice·medium·30 Mar 2023·source document

Summary

CfD Allocation Round 5 opened for applications on 30th March 2023, closing on 24th April 2023. The bulletin provides a 25-day window for renewable generators to submit applications for strike price contracts. This represents routine operation of the established CfD allocation process.

Why it matters

The narrow application window creates time pressure but follows the established pattern of annual allocation rounds. As such, this maintains the current subsidy mechanism without structural change to how renewables are supported or priced.

Key facts

  • Application window: 30 March to 24 April 2023
